"Like all institutions, "future" almost always deserves an open critique by and for itself." In this piece, I attempt to critique "future" with a lighthearted jab at the idea itself. We often ponder the technological potential that the future will bring and in creating "Polar Freeeeez," I brought that to an extreme. How can a simple candy eliminate the most pressing social issue of our time?

This piece, created for the first class project, questions normative perceptions of self. The barbie looks at herself in the mirror while a gun hovers behind her. She thinks to herself "Why does it say 'No dumping allowed.' in that bathroom stall. That is very ironic."

This piece is a visual plea for unity between political parties. It also speaks to the pressing need for a commitment to environmental stewardship. The tree is positioned slightly to the left of the image to symbolize the currently left leaning politics of the united states.

MyFace attempts to deconstruct ideas of identity in a mass-media age. By creating a montage of faces from google images and myjawsurgeryblog.com, and putting it as the background to a logo similar to that of many social networking sites, this piece speaks of issues of both privacy and identity.
